The business Trendsetters forum has unveiled the final list of the business Trendsetters in the private, public, life time achievement, philanthropy and youth categories.
The awards will be handed over the the 7th business Trendsetters forum Expo and awards gala scheduled to happen on 29th July 2026 at the Sheraton hotel Kampala under the theme people, purpose and artificial intelligence in business.
In the private sector category finalists are Tony Galandi Kiire the founder of Diamond advocates, Ganda Boyz and Proffesor Lawrence Muganga the Vice chancellor of Victoria University.
Tony Galandi was nominated for pioneering legal technology in Uganda by integrating legal practice while promoting community empowerment, activism and public legal awareness.
The Ganda Boyz will be recognized for blending folk tradition with European orchestral and percussion arrangements while using their music to support education, healthcare and refugee initiatives through philanthropy.
Proffessor Muganga Lawrence was shortlisted for transforming higher education by championing authentic learning, integrating artificial intelligence into teaching.
In the Public sector category Proscovia Nabbanja the Managing director of Uganda National oil company will be recognized for championing local content, transparency and national energy security while leading efforts to secure multi billion dollar investment in Uganda's oil and gas sector.
Dr. Micheal Atingi Ego was nominated for driving financial sector reforms, promoting digital payments, enhancing financial inclusion and strengthening economic stability.
Mercy Kainobwisho the registrar general of Uganda registration services bureau will be recognized for modernizing business registration, intellectual property protection and corporate governance through digital transformation at Uganda registration services bureau.
According to Business Trendsetters committee led by Yvonne Mpanga the finalists were selected for driving innovation across three strategic sectors such as energy, financial services and business regulation that are central to Uganda's long term development.
" The awards will honour outstanding achievers in categories including the private and public sector, youth, philanthropy and life time achievement awards, said Yvonne Mpanga the founder of Business Trendsetters Forum.
The Business Trendsetters forum seeks together with other like minded organizations to encourage business synergies and networking, guide young entrepreneurs in the discovery of untapped ideas and set trends in respective industries, encourage value addition, through partnerships and joint ventures for Buy Uganda build Uganda, East Africa community and mutual growth, personal growth, knowledge sharing and legacy planning.
