The auto show 2026 edition has officially been launched at the ministry of Works and Transport headquarters in Kampala with a strong focus on road safety and vehicle inspection.
The launch was attended by ministry of Works officials, industry leaders, partners and the press with remarks rotating around the auto show 2026 edition is not just about a show of automotive excellence but a critical platform to drive awareness and action around safe mobility in Uganda.
While giving his remarks the commissioner for Transport regulation and Safety at Ministry of Works and Transport Winston Katushabe emphasize the urgency of priotizing vehicle roadworthiness as a fundamental platform to drive awareness and action around safer mobility in Uganda.
" Road Safety begins with the condition of the vehicle, that is why we are placing strong emphasis on vehicle inspection as the first and last critical step in ensuring safety on our roads, a road worthy vehicle is not optional but responsibility, said Winstone Katushabe.
"We are proud to partner with auto show Kampala because it provides a unique platform to engage the public, the private sector and other stakeholders on the importance of safety compliance and responsible mobility, added Winstone Katushabe.
"This year we are growing in size as well as the purpose, we are creating a more immersive, more inclusive platform that brings together every player in the automative ecosystem, said Allen Ssempa the strategic Partnerships lead at Auto show Kampala.
"Partnering with Ministry of Works and Transport on road safety agenda gives this year's show real depths beyond show casing vehicles, it's shaping the future of mobility in Uganda responsibly, added Allen Ssempa.
The Auto show Kampala will bring together leading automotive brands, dealers, automotive innovators, regulators and enthusiasts offering a dynamic mix of exhibitions, discussions , live demonstration and consumer experiences with expectation to play a pivotal role in advancing public awareness while reinforcing industry commitment to safer roads.
This year's theme for the Auto show alligns closely with the ministry's ongoing efforts to strengthen vehicle inspection systems and promote a culture of safety across the transport sector through engagements, activations, exhibition, the show will highlight innovations in vehicle safety compliance standards and better practices for both individuals and fleet operators.
